Happy is what I am when I hear the Chiefs beat the Broncos. Jubilant is what I am when I hear they are building a temple in Kansas City. I know the whispers of excitement during conference were most likely for the announcement of the temple in Rome, but the loud exclamations in my home were ALL for the temple in K.C. I never had to travel three days by land and sea to get to a temple, but I have had to ride for 11 hours in an uncomfortable bus all the way to Dallas (the nearest temple when I was in Young Womens), so in a small way I felt the sheer joy that is felt when a temple is announced in your home. Even as recently as a few days ago, I was pondering moving back to Kansas City. I was going through the pros and cons and the thought crossed my mind it would be sad to live in a city with no temple. Problem solved. Could this be a gift just for me? Even if I never live there again, it will be so nice to have a temple to visit when I see my family. It will be such a great thing for Kansas City. Everyone will be blessed. Because it is in K.C. I feel as though I should have some say in the design. My number one vote is an old fashioned look, like the Logan Temple, which just happens to be my favorite temple. My number two vote is big and white and magical, like the San Diego or D.C. Temples. No matter what it looks like, I know it will be beautiful and sacred and a little extra special, because it's in my home.

I couldn't believe it when it was announced! I've never been so excited for a temple before. And now I can't wait to move back!
I remember when the temple was announced in Rexburg, ID (my home sweet home). It was the best news I had ever heard.
The second best would be the Kansas City temple.
A close third would definitely be that they are rebuilding the temple in Jerusalem...I am still waiting for that one. I am all for the Second Coming:)
The temple announcements were so exciting. I love hearing where the new temples are going to be. How exciting for you to have one in KC...now you will just have to go visit there lots:)
