Well, I am finishing the year as I began it... running behind. I was supposed to be at a friends for dinner awhile ago. Not only is it New Year's Eve, but we're celebrating Bear's birthday at midnight. He's a New Year's Baby. (Second only to December Babies) Things have come full circle this year. On January 1st of 2008, I was madly dashing to this same friends . I had been trying to get there before midnight to kiss Bear Happy New Years/Happy Birthday right on time, but arrived about 10 minutes late. Now it's the last day of the year and once again I'm trying to make it over there in time. God willing, I will be make it well before midnight, but the irony of starting and finishing the year in the same way is not lost on me. Good thing I have a blog to remind me that things happened in between and I have grown and changed.

I started this blog in January and have had the sweetness of experiencing my life twice since then. Once in the living and a second time in the writing. It has made me appreciate the small and seemingly mundane moments of my life, where before they may have slipped by unnoticed. I am grateful for this gift. I am also grateful for the many other blogs I have stumbled upon and the moments of your lives I was able to share because of it. I am excited for this New Year and the adventures it will bring. I hope we will have fun sharing them together.

Cheers to 2009!

You are an awesome wife. I am completely jealous that Bear is a New Years baby. Did they plan that? Did he get lots of free diapers and such?
His mom actually wanted him to be born in Dec. so she could get a tax write off for the whole year, but he held out to just after midnight and was the first baby born in CA in 1974. He did get some free diapers and a Miss America type sash that said New Years Baby on it.
Cute blog.. hope you have a great day.. hols
Actually, I find this blog a real pain....
It's so fun to read, I like the music and your writing is completely entertaining...
With that... I just can't compete.. Won't be doing a public blog.
Sigh.......
Mom... you would be funny too. Where do you think I learned it from. Everyone knows I'm the least funniest in the family.
