A Letter

To Whom it May Concern,

I clearly remember checking the no morning sickness box on my pregnancy request form. I okayed the following in exchange: drug-free delivery, frequent bathroom breaks, strange cravings, mood swings, hot flashes and interrupted sleep.

Since our terms have been broken, I now request the following amendments: pain-free delivery, record quick return to pre-pregnancy weight and a healthy baby who automatically sleeps nine hours a night.

Please note, I am willing to stick with our original agreement, if all nausea and vomiting ceases and desists from this point.

Sincerely,

Lillith Bear

P.S. Why nine hours you ask? Because I am an actor and we just don't do well off of eight.

Morning, afternoon, and evening sickness made the first 14 weeks of my pregnancy the longest 14 weeks in recorded history. I think that pre-recorded history might have had a longer 14-weeks, but I am not sure.

I feel for you.

Awww, poor Baby.

I just can't think of anything to do for you. Ya'd think the stuff the doctor gave you would work.

Do you want me to have Luke beat Bear up???

Airfare is cheap right now.

The first trimester is sooooo hard. All I can say is try to find at least one or two foods that don't make you feel too pukey (I liked real fruit popsicles and ramen noodles) and sleep lots.

I am so sorry you are experiencing morning sickness. Just eat what sounds good at the time..for me one thing might work great one meal and then the next day be the worst idea ever. hang in there and I hope you are able to find what works for you!! Sleep is always nice...and lots and lots of liquids help too! Smile, you are pregnant!!

Drug-free deliveries are SO overrated anyway. Tried it drug free for a while with the first, but after the drugs the baby came in record time. BOTH times. I'm talking an hour and a half post epidural and I'm holding babies. Now that the terms of the agreement have been breeched, don't take that one back. ;)

Dearest Lil, I do not remember ANYTHING making my sickness feel better. I remember being able to eat eggs...and an apple turnover once.

When I was focused on other people in an intense situation, I would miraculously heal. I was teaching Institute at the time, and I would feel like death when I arrived, but while I taught the sickness went away.

Time makes morning sickness better. I am so sorry.
