Here at Sleepy Bear's we are celebrating a few things; two hour naps, our 200th post and the pursuit of dreams. Did you know Bear and I are both actors? One of our dreams is to make a living acting in worthwhile projects that build up instead of tear down. You know... the kind of movies you watch and feel better about yourself and life in general, maybe even inspired to do great things. We were lucky enough to work on just such a project and you might just be lucky enough to win your very own copy. We are giving away a copy of The Wylds to one lucky reader, so be sure to comment on this post.
The Wylds is a family film based on the ageless story, The Pilgrim's Progress. It's a fun adventure film, with treasures to be gleamed in every scene. I realize a review from someone in the film might not be totally convincing, so I'll keep it short and just say BEAR is AWESOME. River saw it when he was 8 months old and got such a kick out of the robot, he couldn't stop giggling. The director continues to astound me with what he does on a limited budget. He's a great example of not letting restrictions on money, equipment and support stop you from dreaming big and making things happen.
We just finished working on another of his films called Treasure State. We had a blast. We want you to share in the magic, so here is all the ways you can win.
#1 For one entry, comment on this post and for fun, share a dream you have. It can be big or small. I'll be honest, most days I'm dreaming of extra sleep!
#2 For a second entry, like The Wylds on Facebook and leave a separate comment letting me know you did. http://www.facebook.com/#!/thewylds
#3 For a third entry, like Treasure State on Facebook and leave a separate comment letting me know you did. http://www.facebook.com/#!/treasurestate
You can do all or none of the entries, but if you do none of them, you won't win and that would be a tragedy... especially if you have kids. I put a link to the Facebook pages... how much easier does it get? I will do the drawing on Friday April 8th and announce the winner that day. If you don't win and want to buy your own copy, you can purchase The Wylds at most Christian bookstores or at http://thewylds.com/ or on Amazon.
Cheers to our 200th post and we can't wait to do 200 more... it shouldn't take me too long to get there, if I could ever find the time to actually write all the thoughts swimming around in my head!!!

This looks awesome. I have been wanting to see you and Bear act. I remember when you were filming this. It sounded really cool.
I think it is awesome to use something you are passionate about to make the world a better place. I cant wait to see it.
So does the winner get the movie hand delievered?
My dream is to be a best selling author. I have written a couple of books so working on the dream.
Facebook fan of The Wylds.
Facebook fan of Treasure State.
Facebook friend and real life friend of Diamond Lil.
My dream would be to publish a book of my poetry. Congrats on the movie, that's so cool!
Right now I am dreaming of an idyllic family vacation to Disneyland -- went there so many times growing up, so I can't wait to take my own kids there before they are too old for the "magic."
Congrats on the films!
I would love a movie that you guys are in so I'll admit that I dream of living in a warm place. Oh wait, most people already know that...
Congratulations on 200 posts! At my current rate of 2-3 posts per year it's unclear whether I'll hit 200 posts before I die. ;)
I've already got a copy of the movie (which is awesome, by the way) so my entries are just for fun. Besides, it would probably look suspicious if your most favorite sister in the whole world won the contest.
Also, since I'm not really entering, I'm putting all my stuff in one post. Plus, I'm lazy!
I've liked both The Wylds and Treasure State on Facebook.
As for my dream...I would love to move back to the mid-west (or at least mid-west adjacent) so I can visit family more often than once every 1-2 years. But, I draw the line at visiting more than once per day. That would be ridiculous!
Heidi: I don't think it's possible to be too old for the magic of Disneyland - except for It's a Small World. If you're not still in that little kid, watch the same video 10 million times, don't mind highly repetitive songs playing over and over again stage, that ride can drive you crazy.
I too already have a copy, and it would look suspicious if your beloved mother won, but I don't care, go ahead and give it to me...
I wish Jessica's dream would come true...
As far as my dream... I would live like a mother hen with all my chicks nearby.. Also, I would be a healthy skinny hen...... ;)
I'm a friend of both on fb, well I will be in a minute.
Congrats on the 200th post for sure, I'm like Jes, I won't hit 200 before I die probably, I'm such a slacker.
I already have a copy too and it prob would be super suspicious if you're most fav friend won a copy so don't worry bout me!
My dream is to be able to travel a lot more, there's so many more places I need to see! Can I have 2 dreams?! Thanks, I would also love to live close to all of my friends and family, which is pretty much impossible, dang!
Hmmm... something I dream about. Having my family back together, finding our daughters, wherever they are, cooking on the Food Network... okay so that last one isn't so benevolent. :)
Awesome Lil! I bet my kids would love this movie! Glad to hear of it. Good luck in all your dreams. My dreams include writing transformative fiction and non-fiction, especially for Mom's. The kind that lifts and inspires others to be who they are meant to be.
I like The Wylds on Facebook!
I like Treasure State on Facebook. Have a teen son that will love that movie!
I want a Good Movie They are so hard to find.
I loved the movie and watching you kids act...I do not know why my son feels the need to be a badguy all the time but so it is. I hope it does well
Already a fan of The Wylds and now I'm a fan of Treasure State.
I hope to someday act with you and Bear. :)
Very cute little guy your family has there. Wish you guys many more years of happiness.
